There’s something about chicken wings that just brings people together. Game night, backyard BBQ, or just a Tuesday when you need a little spice in your life—wings never disappoint.

I remember the first time I made these Honey Sriracha Wings for my friends. One bite in, and all I heard was silence… then a chorus of “Oh my God!” and “Dude, these are insane!” That’s when I knew I had a winner.

This recipe has the perfect balance of heat from Sriracha, sweetness from honey, and a little garlic to round it all out.

Plus, I use fresh, locally sourced chicken from the farmers market whenever I can—it makes a difference. Let’s get into it!

Substitutions & Variations

  • Less Spicy? Cut Sriracha in half and add an extra tablespoon of honey.
  • No Honey? Maple syrup works great!
  • Gluten-Free? Use tamari instead of soy sauce.
  • Extra Crispy? Broil wings for 2–3 minutes after baking.

🍽️ Serving & Presentation Tips

  • Serve on a wooden platter with celery sticks & ranch for contrast.
  • Pair with an ice-cold beer or lemonade for a cooling balance.
  • Want a meal? Serve over jasmine rice with a side of stir-fried veggies.

  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs fresh chicken wings (split into drumettes & flats)
  • 1 tbsp baking powder (for crispy skin)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (adds a subtle depth)

For the Sauce:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Sriracha (adjust for spice preference)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (adds a little tang)
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (fresh is best!)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (optional, for extra depth)
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water (for thickening)

Garnish:

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped

Instructions

Prep the Wings

  1. Pat dry the wings with paper towels. This is crucial for crispy skin!
  2. Toss wings in baking powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. The baking powder helps them crisp up beautifully in the oven.
  3. Place the wings on a wire rack over a baking sheet lined with foil (for easy cleanup).

2️⃣ Bake or Air Fry

  • Oven: Bake at 400°F for 45–50 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Air Fryer: Cook at 375°F for 25 minutes, shaking halfway.

3️⃣ Make the Sauce

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and add garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
  2. Stir in honey, Sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  3. Mix cornstarch with water and add it in, stirring until the sauce thickens (about 2 minutes).

4️⃣ Toss & Serve

  1. When wings are done, toss them in the sauce while they’re hot.
  2. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions for extra crunch and freshness.
